How do I find Aviary?
We are located inside the Montcalm hotel, at the top on the 10th floor
Do you have disabled access
The 10th floor can be accessed via stairs and lifts
What are your age restrictions?
Children under the age of 16 are permitted in the restaurant until 6pm. After 6pm, persons 16-17 are allowed in the restaurant only. Please note under 18's are not permitted in the bar or outside terrace area at any time and must be accompanied by an adult. We run a strict Challenge 25 policy, so if you're lucky enough to look under 25, you will be asked to provide proof of age. We accept passports and UK driving licenses only. Photocopies will not be accepted.
Do you accept cash & all cards?
We are cashless, so please bring a bank card with you to settle your bill. We accept all major credit cards, including American express
What is your dress code?
Whilst we don't have a strict dress code, visiting Aviary is an experience. Think smart casual. Smart trainers are welcome, but no sportswear (sports trainers, hoodies, baseball caps etc).
Is the terrace covered?
The terrace is not covered to allow for unobstructed views. In the event of poor weather, you would need to move inside to avoid getting wet
When does Aviary close?
Please check our opening hours at the bottom of this page for up to date information. Due to licensing we close the terrace at 10pm each evening
Reservations & Events
Do I need to book or can I just walk in?
To guarantee a spot, we would always advise you to book in advance. Please note Saturday terrace bookings are for groups of 4 and over only due to demand
Why am I asked for a deposit or authentication to secure my reservation?
Unfortunately ‘no shows’ are damaging to our industry after COVID-19. We take a deposit or authentication to ensure your attendance, so please only book if you are going to attend
Can I dine on the terrace?
Dining bookings are for our inside restaurant only. The terrace is for drinks and snacks, found in our bar menu
How can I book to dine in the restaurant?
You can book online for groups of up to 6 people maximum, head to ‘book now’ at the top right of this page and click ‘make a reservation’. At the moment, we can only accept 6 people per table due to government guidelines so if you are a larger group, please make multiple bookings and you will be on separate tables, but we will try to put you as close as possible, whilst still adhering to government guidelines
How can I book for drinks on the terrace, igloos, and private parties?
Head to the top right of this page and click ‘book now’, then click ‘make an enquiry’.
How long can I book for drinks on the terrace and inside for?
Due to demand, we are currently operating turn times. Monday & Tuesday for a maximum of 5 hours. Wednesday – Saturday maximum of 2 hours, and Sunday is 3 hours. If you want to stay longer you can book multiple time slots but it would be an additional charge.
Do you work with promoters?
We do not work with external promoters
I want to hire the venue exclusively?
We hire Aviary out for all occasions, from weddings to corporate and Christmas parties. We work with reasonable minimum spends. Head to the top right of this page and click ‘book now’, then click ‘make an enquiry’ to discuss options with our events team
We have 4 igloos available to pre-book located on our Palm terrace floor, which is the 9th floor. Aviary is on the 10th floor.
Can I dine in the igloos?
We have 2 igloos with dining set up to enjoy a seated meal, from our Aviary a la carte menu
Can I have drinks & snacks in the igloo?
We have 2 igloos with a lounge-style setup, think low seating, and a small table for drinks. See our Aviary bar menu for food & drinks
How many guests can I book for in the igloo?
Normally we can accommodate up to 10/12 people per igloo. Currently, with government guidelines, it is 6 maximum. Your party will always have the igloo privately even if you are 2 people.
How long can I stay in the igloo?
Due to demand, we are currently operating turn times. Monday & Tuesday max 5 hours. Wednesday to Saturday max 2 hours. Sunday max 3 hours. If you want to stay longer you can book multiple time slots but it would be an additional charge.
How much is it to book an igloo August Thursday – Sunday, and September onwards?
For groups of 2 and 3, we have a £200 minimum spend in total. For groups of 4+, we have a minimum spend per person of £50. Your minimum spend can be met with food, drinks and a 12.5% service charge
How much is it to book an igloo August Monday - Wednesday with the government eat out to help out scheme?
We are taking part in this scheme and are offering 50% off all food and soft drinks Monday to Wednesday. Monday & Tuesday is a minimum spend of £50 per person regardless of group size. Wednesday is £150 in total for groups of 2 or 3. For groups of 4+, we have a minimum spend per person of £50. Your minimum spend can be met with food, drinks and a 12.5% service charge
Can I walk in and get an igloo?
Igloos are pre-booked only
Is there a view from the igloo?
Our igloo structures are made from glass and you can see the London skyline from within them.
What time can I book the igloos?
Our first booking is at 11am, and we close the terrace at 10pm, so we recommend the last booking is 8pm.
